CSS 2026 Age Limit
This article will explain the CSS age limit for 2026 in simple words. It includes the age limit set by FPSC in Pakistan and the rules for age relaxation.
The age limit for the CSS exam is 21 to 30 years. If someone is younger than 21 or older than 30 on the cut-off date, they cannot take the exam.
Example: If a person was born before December 31, 1995, or after January 1, 2005, they cannot take the CSS 2026 exam. The exam will be held in February 2026.
CSS 2026 Age Relaxation Criteria
Age relaxation criteria for the CSS exam 2026. Some candidates can get two years of age relaxation. The following groups qualify:

(a) Candidates from scheduled castes or the Buddhist community. They must show a certificate from the Deputy Commissioner, District Magistrate, or an authorized person.
(b) Candidates from recognized groups living in special areas. They must prove their families have lived there. These areas include:
- Balochistan
- Tribal areas of D.I. Khan and Peshawar Divisions
- Excluded areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur
- Tribal regions of the Mardan and Hazara Divisions
- Upper Tanawal Area of Hazara Division
(c) Candidates from Azad Kashmir. They must provide a certificate from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir authority.
(d) Candidates from Gilgit-Baltistan. This includes Gilgit, Diamir, Baltistan, Ghizer, and Guanche. They must show a certificate from the Deputy Commissioner or an authorized person.
(e) Special candidates with physical, hearing, speech, or vision impairments. They need a disability certificate from a federal or provincial government officer.
(f) Government employees, military personnel, and contract workers with at least two years of continuous service. They need permission from their department. However, workers from national banks, State Bank, WAPDA, and similar organizations do not get age relaxation.
Important Note
Time spent on extraordinary leave is not government service for age relaxation. If someone takes extraordinary leave, it will not be included in their service period for this benefit.
