Eligibility Criteria of CSS exam: A Candidate must fulfill the following criteria to be eligible to attempt the CSS Exam!
Education Required for CSS Exam
- A bachelor’s degree (14 years of education) from a university recognized by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC). A minimum of the second division, or ‘C’ grade, is required.
- If an applicant does not have the appropriate degree on or before the cut-off date (31 December), they must present a Provisional Certificate from their university. However, before the Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan (FPSC) declares the final result, the candidate must provide the degree.
- A candidate with a third division or ‘D’ grade in a bachelor’s degree is also eligible for the competitive examination if he or she has a higher division or grade in a master’s degree.
Age Requirement for CSS Exam
Minimum 21 years – Maximum 30 Years before the cut-off date. Normally the cut-off date for the CSS exam is 31 December of the year in which year CSS is announced (year of advertisement).
Age Relaxation Criteria for CSS Exam
- Government employees or members of the armed forces who, as of the deadline, have served continuously for at least two years in the government. These laws prohibit age-relaxation for workers employed by nationalized banks. Also, the State Bank of Pakistan, the Water and Power Development Authority, regulatory agencies, autonomous entities, and other semi-autonomous bodies.
- Special Candidates: those who are visually, physically, or hearing handicapped.
- being a part of the Buddhist community or the scheduled cast.
- Permanent residing in Gilgit-Baltistan, Baluchistan, or Azad Kashmir Territory.
- Belonging to the acknowledged Tribes whose families have been living in the following locations permanently:
- Formerly a part of the Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur Districts, the Baloch Area was omitted.
- D.I. Khan and Peshawar Divisions’ tribal areas, which include the erstwhile Frontier States of Dir, Swat, Chitral, and Amb.
- Previous Hazara and Mardan Tribal Areas.
- Hazara Division’s Upper Tanawal Area.
Nationality:
- Must be a resident of Jammu & Kashmir or a citizen of Pakistan.
- A Pakistani individual cannot sit for a competitive exam if he is married to a foreign national. However, if a candidate obtained approval from the federal government before getting married, he is considered eligible.
Domicile:
- Positions in Occupational Groups and Services are filled in compliance with Federal Government-mandated policies. As a result, applicants must present a domicile certificate from the appropriate licensing body.
- Once a candidate’s domicile is claimed and approved by the Commission to be admitted to the competitive exam, it is definitive. At a subsequent examination or selection, no modifications will be accepted.
