I. Precis Writing (20 Marks)
You will be provided with a passage. It will be easy to understand and suitable for summarizing. Your task is to write a summary. The summary should be 1/3 of the given paragraph. You also need to come up with an appropriate title. The summary is worth 15 marks. The title is worth 5 marks.
II. Translation (10 Marks)
You’ll be given ten short sentences in Urdu. These sentences will include important terms and expressions. Your task is to translate them into English accurately. Each sentence holds 1 mark.
III. Pairs of Words (10 Marks)
You will be given ten pairs of words that seem similar but have different meanings. These words are often confused with each other. You need to pick five pairs, explain the differences, and then use each word in a sentence. Each pair of words has 2 marks.

IV. Reading Comprehension (20 Marks)
You will get a passage that is meaningful and easy to follow. It won’t be overly technical or specific to one subject. After reading, you’ll answer five questions. Each question is worth 4 marks.
V. Grammar and Vocabulary (20 Marks)
This section will test your understanding of grammar and vocabulary. You’ll need to use tenses, prepositions, and articles correctly. It also includes punctuation, conjunctions, and phrasal verbs. You’ll work with synonyms and antonyms as well.
VI. Grouping of Words (10 Marks)
You will see a list of twenty words. The words will be of moderate difficulty. Your task is to pair the words based on similar or opposite meanings. The question will provide clear instructions on how to do this.
VII. Sentence Correction (10 Marks)
You’ll be given sentences with obvious mistakes in grammar or punctuation. Your job is to fix these mistakes. Only make the necessary changes. Each sentence will have a unique issue. Some will focus on correcting punctuation.
